“Find Self-Forgiveness & Write A New Narrative For Your Life”

Description: A STORY OF RADICAL REINVENTION

“One of the most liberating gifts you can ever give to yourself and the people around you is overcoming past trauma to create peace and unconditional self-love. No matter what you’ve been through, being deliberate about your journey of healing will set you, your family and your loved ones up for long-term success. Without taking the time to heal, it’ll make the “down times” even harder than they need to be.

My guest today is a shining example of radical reinvention and creating peace from past trauma. His name is Shaka Senghor and in today’s show, he’s going to walk us through how to better let go of shame, how to rewrite the narrative of our own lives, and SO much more. Please help welcome the one-and-only, Shaka Senghor, to The School of Greatness!

Today’s guest is best-selling author Shaka Senghor. Senghor was released from prison in 2010 after spending 19 years after being convicted of murder. Today, Shaka’s priority is shifting societal narratives through storytelling and developing workshops with high entertainment value and deep social impact. Senghor is the Head of Sales and Success Culture at TripActions and Founder of Redeemed Sole.

He was recognized by OWN (the Oprah Winfrey Network) as a “Soul Igniter” in the inaugural class of the SuperSoul 100. He has taught at the University of Michigan and shares his story of redemption around the world. His memoir, Writing My Wrongs: Life, Death and Redemption in an American Prison, debuted on The New York Times and The Washington Post Best Seller Lists. Shaka’s widely anticipated sophomore book, Letters to the Sons of Society was released in January 2022.”

Have two recommendations this week as I’ve had more free time than I have over the past year…Ostensibly a conversation about unidentified areial aircraft, the Universe, and physics however a fascinating discussion around the 00:28 minute stamp occurs when Dr. Weinstein discusses the novelty surrounding the issue of Humans trying to study organisms more intelligent than themselves..something that doesn’t occur often, current societal norms not withstanding. It is really interesting to hear such a brilliant mind discuss the philosophy and strategies when trying to understand something smarter than yourself. Personally, I also think that is probably the best mode of thinking to try to change our style of thinking and also continue to increase our own intelligence in the process.
